We have English speaking staff on hand 24/7
During the main fishing season water temps are hot (75-80F) but the air temperature can vary significantly throughout the day. Most afternoons are sunny and warm (80-90F) but evenings and early mornings can be chilly (65-70F). From December on the weather starts to change with nighttime temps dropping to 50-55F and daytime temps in the low 70’s.
While most days shorts and a t-shirt will suffice wearing layers is best with a sweatshirt and waterproof wind breaker being good to have as mornings can be cool with some fog/dew in November and December. Sandals or boat shoes are recommended with some customers preferring to wear deck boots to keep their feet dry.
If you think you’ll want/need it, bring it! There are large supermarkets and department stores available in Cabo and La Paz and the basics are available in San Carlos but once we get to the Island there is no shopping available.
Please let us know if you require specific items or have special dietary needs upon making your reservation and we will do our best to accommodate you.
We have all new Penn rods/reels and top shelf lures and terminal tackle from Nomad Lures, Mustad and Seaguar but many customers like to bring some of their own gear. If you would prefer to use your own reels feel free to use our rods to avoid traveling with a rod case.
If you would like to bring your own lures and terminal tackle the following is a list of our go-to’s on the boats:
Leader: 40, 60, 80 and 100lb flourocarbon.
Lures: Nomad DTX Minnow 145 and 200’s. Nomad vertical jigs in 150-300 gram sizes. Moldcraft wide-range trolling lures. Pakula tackle Softease trolling lures.
Hooks: Mustad 3/0, 5/0, 7/0, 9/0 circle hooks and 3/0, 5/0, 7/0 live bait hooks.
Good people, good scenery, good fishing, good adventure… very laid back. We schedule arrival/departure times based on tides. There is no van ride or herd mentality so fishing days can be as long or as short as you’d like. If you’d like to sleep in and leaving later allows for hitting a good tide… no worries.
